Join us in the Gear Library at The Mountaineers Seattle Program Center for a day of volunteering during our annual inventory week! This year's inventory week is scheduled for October 17-20, 2023. See the full schedule below and RSVP to help out.
The Mountaineers Gear Library believes everyone should have the opportunity to get outside and aims to reduce some of the obstacles to having a safe and comfortable outdoor experience. Our gear goes through a lot of wear and tear over the course of a year, and we are putting a call out to the community to help restore and organize our fleet!
Our primary goal during inventory week is to count and organize every item in the Gear Library - nearly 3,000 items total! This herculean task is made light by the support of many hands.
Fall 2023 Gear Library Inventory

Volunteers should be comfortable sitting or standing for the duration of their shift. No experience with any of our gear is required. This is a great time to connect with the outdoor community in a low-stakes environment, gain volunteer hours, and get to know more about our outdoor gear resources! We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
The Mountaineers Gear Library serves a mix of individuals, families, and internal youth programs. We receive a variety of corporate and individual donations that allow us to offer a wide range of hard and soft goods for outdoor enthusiasts. As a community resource, we rely on the support of our community to sustain our operations. Thank you for pitching in!
