Bring your work gloves and working spirit up to The Mountaineers Lodge at Mt. Baker!
The Baker Lodge was built by an industrious group of volunteers in 1957, and that legacy of volunteerism lives on at the lodge today. We rely on dedicated volunteers to keep our lodges running smoothly. Sign up for a work party today!
Work parties are a grand time to work with a team of like-minded Mountaineers in one of the most beautiful settings in the Cascades doing all sorts of tasks including brush-cutting, painting, cleaning, light carpentry, and more.
2023 work parties will be held on the weekends of September 9, September 23, October 14, and October 21. After registering, you will be contacted by the planner for the weekend who will share more information about anticipated tasks and what tools you may want to bring.
Lodging is free if you're volunteering for a work party, and meals will be provided from Saturday breakfast through Sunday breakfast. The main body of the work will be done on Saturday, and you can stay or plan your own activities on Sunday after breakfast is done and the lodge is clean and ready for the next event.
If you happen to have the skills that come from home ownership or construction that is a plus. It would be great to share whatever skills you have with others while making a lasting impact on the future of the lodge. It is very satisfying to return to the lodge year after year and see what you've built or completed still in use or improved over time. The work parties are also a great way to learn how the lodge operates and get to know the volunteers who lead the lodge committee.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our work parties! Feel free to contact Richard Babunovic or Michael Wynne-Jones if you have any questions.
