Hundreds of people were able to participate more deeply in our community in 2024 because the financial barrier was lowered by our Mountaineers Access Program. This donor-funded program is made possible through the generosity of our outdoor community.

Donate to Support Scholarships

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and your donation will help increase access to the outdoors through scholarships. But don’t just take our word for it – here is what a few of this year’s scholarship recipients (or their parents) have to say.

“Being outside is life saving. For me, coming from a poverty background, going outdoors felt like a rich person activity and also unattainable. Scholarships allow people to discover and learn skills to navigate outdoors and to also help contribute to the skill set of others by sharing their own knowledge.”

- Ashley*, Basic Climbing course

“Thanks to the scholarship, our family was able to try out all that The Mountaineers has to offer as new members - and now we're planning on becoming lifelong members! I'm so thankful to be able to raise my kids in this great community.”

- Naomi*, Mini Mountaineers & Nordic Skiing

“Everyone who wishes should have access to wild places in a safe and informed manner. In a world full of inequities, The Mountaineers is doing their part to rectify these problems in a space so close to their hearts. Direct contact with nature has proven health benefits – The Mountaineers helps to make these benefits accessible, perhaps to those who need it the most.”

- Hannah, Scrambling course

“It's so important because many people feel outmatched, outclassed, and out of their comfort zone in the wild. The community offered through The Mountaineers is as important, maybe more important, than the costs of actual equipment.”

- Jasmin*, Lodge Camp (parent)

Your gift for Giving Tuesday will help someone access outdoor education and community that would otherwise feel out of reach.

Thanks to a generous matching opportunity, your donation today and tomorrow will be doubled. Help us reach $20,000 to make the match and have twice the impact in 2025.
