At The Mountaineers, we believe an inclusive outdoor community inspires unity, respect, and passion for the places we love. We empower others to safely and responsibly pursue outdoor activities by connecting people to place, leveraging that connection to inspire advocacy and stewardship efforts.
One of the key ways we provide equitable access to the outdoors is through donor-funded scholarships, and we’re always looking for ways to make your gifts go further this #GivingTuesday. Facebook has pledged to match up to $7 million in donations made through Facebook, and we’re asking for your help to raise $25,000 to provide scholarships to 75 students. This ensures that life-changing Mountaineers opportunities are available to all. Would you join us to meet the challenge?

SCHOLARSHIPS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
"I'm a retired senior who lives in the mountains of Washington six months out of the year. Many people in my community in the Okanogan Highlands are more than one hour away from medical care. At one time I was a Registered Nurse, and I try to keep my skills alive so that I'm in a position to help my neighbors - and people who might need me in the world at large. I accomplish my goal by maintaining certification as a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) aka a 'Woofer.'
Thanks to The Mountaineers I qualified for a scholarship to recertify this November. Every year I respond to somebody who has a medical or trauma-related need, helping them with timely care. Your generosity goes a long way toward helping me stretch my limited income, and in return provides other people with timely emergency care when they need it most.
