Join local author David B. Williams to celebrate the release of his much-anticipated book, Wild in Seattle: Stories at the Crossroads of People and Nature. Williams will be joined in conversation by Laurie Frankel, author of Family Family. This event is free and open to the public.
Wild in Seattle features more than 40 essays diving into the geology, animals, plants, and architecture that shape Seattle, fully illustrated by celebrated local artist Elizabeth Person, and includes fun and fascinating sidebars that explore regional vocabulary, scientific terms, and Indigenous language phrases. Williams’ lively essays woven with Elizabeth Person’s engaging illustrations will fire up the curiosity of both residents and visitors alike, inspiring all to take a fresh look at the Emerald City.

ELIZABETH PERSON is known for her unique map illustrations, informational art and Northwest themes. Laurie Frankel is the New York Times bestselling, award-winning author of five novels, including her new one, Family Family, as well as One Two Three and This Is How It Always Is. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Poets & Writers, Publisher’s Weekly, and other publications. She is the recipient of the Washington State Book Award and the Endeavor Award. Her novels have been translated into more than twenty-five languages and been optioned for film and TV. A former college professor, she now writes full-time in Seattle, Washington where she lives with her family and makes good soup.
