You don't have to be an uber-hiker to enjoy a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. Eli Boschetto, author of Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail: Oregon, breaks down the Oregon portion of the PCT into easily-accessible sections that can be hiked in as little as a few days, to longer portions of a week or more - all at your own pace. For those new to long-distance hiking, there will be tips for choosing the right gear, food management, trail safety and PCT hiking best practices, as well as suggestions for hiking the PCT in a hybrid European-style hut-to-hut adventure. The program will also include an update on the condition of the PCT in Oregon as it recovers from the devastating fires of 2017, and what hikers should expect on the trail this year. If hiking a portion of the PCT is on your to-do list, this is a must attend event!
Admission is free and open the public. Books will be available for purchase.
