Meet shortly before 6 pm near the Dinosaur topiary at the intersection of the Burke Gilman Trail and Phinney Ave in Fremont. We'll finish near 8 pm at the topiary.
Join us after work for an early evening hike up to Fremont Peak Park for stunning views to the ship canal and points south and west over Puget Sound. This urban adventure follows extended route #2 in Seattle Stairway Walks (2013, The Mountaineers), about 4 miles with ~302 stairs up and ~310 stairs down. Ramble through nearby Theo's Chocolate before the hike (they close at 6 pm) if you wish to stock up for a Valentine's treat.
Dress for the weather and be sure to bring your headlamp. Some add reflective clothing as we cross many city streets. A public toilet is available on the return leg in the Fremont Library.
