Rattlesnake Mountain (East)

A moderate to strenuous, in-and-out day hike along Rattlesnake Mountain starting from Rattlesnake Lake. Hike up to 11.2 miles and 3,010 feet of elevation gain. Enjoy many great views from the ridge!

getting there

From North Bend (I-90, Exit 34), drive 2.5 miles south on 436th Ave SE (Cedar Falls Road SE) to the Rattlesnake Lake parking area. The Rattlesnake Lake Recreation Area is managed by Seattle Public Utilities and does NOT require any type of pass!

on the trail

Hike 2.0 miles and 1,160 feet of elevation gain to Rattlesnake Ledge (2,078 ft). Continue hiking west along the ridge as far as you like before turning around.

East Peak (3,500 ft)

Reach the East Peak in another 1.8 miles and 1,450 feet of elevation gain.  Great views abound from here! 7.6 miles and  2,600 feet of elevation gain round trip.

Grand Prospect (3,100 ft)

Reach Grand Prospect in another about 1.8 miles and 400 feet of elevation loss.  This precipice is due south of the town of North Bend. 11.2 miles and 3,010 feet of elevation gain round trip.
