Encountered snow at about 3000' and used snowshoes for the rest of the trip. Final ridge was mainly soft snow, but icy in places (in the trees). We could see huge cornices on the north side of the ridge, so we stayed well back from the edge.
Forecast called for rain starting at 10am, but rain held off until 4pm when we were nearly back to the cars. Long logging road approach to fun scramble up east ridge of Moolock Mountain. Lots of snow skills practice for the one student scrambler.
