Road to Esmeralda TH is open and passable. Trail to climb is in good condition, streams are very low but adequate for filtering water, approach is almost free of snow. Snow free approach is possible but not as direct. We didn't bring ice axes, crampons, or boots and didn't need them.
Seven climbers departed TH at Noon 6AUG. Arrived campground approx 3PM. There were nearby streams for water. Goats were everywhere. Up at 4AM and first on route at 6AM. Everyone summited. Route had 4 other rope teams on the route after we started and the route got very busy with everyone trying to share rap stations. One double-70M from top plus one double-60M get you to the packs. At packs by 4PM. TH by 6:20PM. No medicals or other problems to report except possible flea, fly, mosi, bug bites at camp. Look forward to this climb again.
