This clinic is intended for all instructors, assistants, and future instructors and assistants to practice and learn how to teach the Everett Basic Kayak Course students.  We demonstrate and practice the entire gamut of skills including:

  • Wet Exits and Self Rescues (both standard and heel hook)
  • Assisted Rescues
  • Paddle Strokes

 After completion of this clinic you will be expected to assist at our pool training on April 19, 2025  and/or Open Water on April 26, 2025 (Please keep the alternate date of 4/27 open as well!)

2024 and prior Basic class graduates are encouraged to join us and get a refresher on their skills as well as help this year's class!  

 

 

Meet at 10:00AM at Bowman Bay at Deception Pass State Park.  Be ready to launch and begin clinic at 10:45 AM.   

We will have a working lunch and be finished by around 4:00 PM.

You will need a Discover Pass.  You can purchase an annual or day pass here: Where to Buy | Discover Pass, WA - Official Website. There are also automated paystations at the park; credit card only.

An optional/no-host post-clinic rehydration and energy replacement event will be scheduled for a local restaurant.  Details to follow.
