Everett Snowshoe Program
ABOUT SNOWSHOWING
Snowshoeing is winter hiking using snowshoes to stay on top of the snow. Destinations are usually to the same places as in the hiking season: lakes, viewpoints and forests. Travel is non-technical (other than wearing the snowshoes) and is on unplowed roads and snowy trails. Think of this as extending the hiking season into winter.
SNOWSHOE TRIPS
There are no requirements for participation in easy snowshoeing trips. Snowshoes can be rented or purchased from several local outdoor-equipment stores. Most folks also bring along a couple of ski poles for stability. The trip leaders will be able to fill you in on gear.
Contact the trip leader for permission to participate in trips listed as moderate and above. Members who have completed either Alpine Scrambling or Basic Climbing may participate in any snowshoe trip.
