Winter Trail Running Conditioning Course runs from 6+ miles. You will need to complete 2 course runs per month over Dec, Jan and Feb to graduate.

Meet at 6:00 pm at 106th Dr SE on the western edge of the park: https://maps.app.goo.gl/56GNPvf7Tva5XjJE7. Following introductions, description of route and current trail conditions, plan to start running by 6:15 pm. No passes required. Portable toilet available at trailhead.

This route will cover many trails in the Paradise Valley Conservation Area.

We will follow a mostly clockwise loop for ~7 1/10 miles total distance with 769 ft elevation gain, mostly following an outer loop with a couple of meanders through inner trails. We will look to do an avg pace of 4 mph: moderate hike uphill and 4.5-5.0 mph straightaway and downhill. Please bring a headlamp since we will be starting in the dark!

Please wear layers of breathable, technical clothing suitable for outdoor aerobic activities for this course's activities.

  • Waterproof jacket, hat, buff, gloves, sunglasses; running-specific gaiters recommended
