  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 6.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft

Meet at 9am at the north side of the parking lot near the Mount Teneriffe trailhead. Following introductions, description of route and current trail conditions.  Discover Pass required. Bathroom available at trailhead.

Directions: From I-90, take exit 32 (436th Avenue SE). Turn left (north) over the freeway and drive 0.5 miles to SE North Bend Way. Turn left (west), and in 0.25 mile turn right (north) on SE Mount Si Road. In 2.9 miles (past the Little Si and Mount Si trailheads), you will reach a 118-car paved parking area on the left.

We will follow a counter-clockwise lollipop for ~5.7 miles total distance with 1,907 ft elevation gain, following the Mount Teneriffe trail then the Teneriffe Falls trail. When we get to the waterfall, we can stop for a picture and snack before heading back, taking the Mount Teneriffe trail most of the way. We will look to do an average pace of 3.5 mph: moderate to fast (depending on group comfort) hike uphill and 4.5-5.0 mph straightaway and downhill. Goal is for everyone to run at a conversational pace, which means you can talk in complete sentences without gasping for air, can easily breathe through your nose, and have an average heart rate typically less than 140 (75% of max heart rate).
