This lecture is one of two required for graduation from the B3 course, introducing basic skills and gear important to comfort and safety during a backpack trip.

This session will begin at 6:30PM on  March 13, on zoom, and will end at 9PM.  Zoom login details will be provided the week before the session.

This lecture starts with an overview of the B3 course philosophy and core components;   We then review how to pack based on the type of trip and expected conditions including how to develop a packing checklist;  and over the remainder of the session covers the basics of clothing and footwear selection for backpacking, socks and foot care, hydration, water purification, your cook system, food and food preparation.
