Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Bean Creek Basin & Navaho Pass

Backpack the sunny east side Teanaway area with camps in Bean Creek Basin and below Navaho Pass. Optional afternoon extensions based on weather and interest. We'll have a short car shuttle between the Beverly Turnpike and Stafford Creek trailheads. Any B3er can request permission to register for the trip; send an email to hess@whidbey.com with your recent trip experience so we can ensure this trip is a good fit for you.

The trip description is the base trip.  There will be big views and optional side trips based on weather and interest.

Day  1.  Beverly Turnpike TH to Bean Basin camp, 2.3 miles,  +1950 with an even grade.

Day 2.  Bean Basin camp  to Stafford Creek camp below Navaho Pass, 5.3 miles, +2200 with three climbs.

Day 3. Downhill to Stafford Creek trailhead, 5 miles, -2550 with an even grade. Shuttle back to Beverly Turnpike TH for our cars.

A "Hello Hiker" email to participants a week before the trip will include trip details and driving directions.

Meet at the Stafford Creek trailhead at 10am, boots on and packs ready (rain or shine).  We'll leave some cars at Stafford and carpool about 5 miles to the Beverly Turnpike TH to start our trip.
