Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - North Fork Skokomish River

Hike out and back on the North Fork Skokomish Trail for an overnight at Flapjack Lakes. B3 students will learn backpacking skills on a two day, one night challenging trip.

Meet at the Staircase overflow parking lot.  We will start hiking at 8:30 am.

Exploring the east side of the Olympics beginning at Staircase, and ascending up the North Fork Skokomish trail to Flapjack Lakes, situated at the top of the forest zone.  There will be an optional side trip to Gladys Divide.  Note the trail to Flapjack is a challenging trip due to the elevation gain, and Flapjack trail conditions.  See the wta.org trip description here  www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/flapjack-lakes

Early priority registration will be given to students in Sarah/Caroline/Christina's mentor group from June 26 through July 2 at 8pm.  Then any qualified B3 student can email Caroline (the mentored leader) at tallredfox@aol.com for leader permission to sign up; provide the spring/summer season backpack trips/leaders you've completed to date.  Permission requests are not accepted before July 2.
