Backpacking Building Blocks Student-Only Backpack - Pacific Crest Trail: Harts Pass to Rainy Pass
This trip will synthesize B3 students' skills they've learned this season. This four day experience is in the North Cascades high country along the Pacific Crest Trail with experienced mentors. We'll coordinate with another B3 group for a key/car pass. Sarah and Jessica's mentor group has priority signup starting Sunday, June 2 at 8pm. If space is still available on the trip, other interested and qualified B3 students can email the leader at hess@whidbey.com starting June 9 at 8pm to ask for permission to sign up. Registration closes Sunday, August 25.

Meet at the Rainy Pass north trailhead at 9am on Friday, September 13. The two groups will coordinate the key/car exchange. One group will start at the Rainy Pass trailhead and hike north. The other will drive on to Harts Pass outside Mazama and start their southbound backpack later that morning.
If we're the southbound group, we'll hike south from Hart's Pass along the Pacific Crest Trail toward Rainy Pass. Hiking days will be about eight to ten miles/day, with a possible layover day exploring the Snowy Lakes area. We'll do a key pass with the other group when we meet them on the trail, and our cars will be waiting for us at Rainy Pass.
If we're the northbound group, we'll start at Rainy Pass and hike the reverse trip toward Hart's Pass. More information will be provided to the participants by the leader via a Hello Hiker email before the trip.
