This seminar is for newer and experienced Foothills hike, urban walk and backpack leaders interested in discussing the top 5 leadership challenges with your peers. It will be coupled with a practical application workshop focused on trip posting essentials and pre-trip communications.

This will take place via Zoom, with break-out rooms for the workshop portion of the seminar. Zoom log-in details  will be provided two days before the seminar.

  • Do you encounter frequent cancellations, no-shows and participants who aren't prepared? 
  • Do you find yourself unsure of what essentials to communicate in your trip postings and pre-trip communications?
  • Are you a newer leader looking for tools to effectively communication to your participants?
  • Do you need encouragement in setting clear boundaries and trip expectations?

One of the best ways to reach practical solutions is to share experiences with other leaders, new and experienced. We will learn from one another in a spirit of collaboration as we discuss leadership challenges, leadership styles, coupled with a workshop session on trip posting essentials and pre-trip communication.

Who is this workshop for?

  • Newer and experienced leaders who lead at least 2 trips a year.

Registration Qualifications: 

  • You must be a Mountaineers hike, urban walk or backpack leader.
  • Leaders from other branches are welcome!

  • Discuss the top 5 leader challenges and identify solutions
  • Identify your strengths
  • Workshop key elements for trip postings and pre trip communications

  • Come prepared to actively participate in breakout sessions and group dialogue

  • Prepare to share your leader experiences
  • Be open to collaboration as we workshop ideas, suggestions, and potential communication improvements
