  • Mileage: 3.0
  • Elevation Gain: 200 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 - 2 mph

Meet at the park  at  8:30 am, exact location will be in the Hello Hiker email.

This will be a dog-friendly hike, so please be okay with hiking with dogs if you are signing up. Leader will have her 5lb tiny hiking companion. Well behaved dogs permitted (must not be reactive to small dogs) and must remain on leash 100% of the time. Please advise leader if you plan to bring your dog. Dogs no longer count as heartbeats on trail but we prefer to keep it to under 5 dogs.

UPDATE 4/4/24: The privately owned part of the perimeter trail (Nichols trail section) is closed. We'll be doing about 3 miles in the other sections of the park, which may include some out and back/lollypop trails to Juel Park and/or out to Avondale Road.

The trails here are generally well maintained and include a variety of surfaces (paved, dirt, bark, gravel). We will hike together as a group at a casual/conversational pace that will be dictated by the slowest hiker (human or dog), with stops as needed for water/snack/photo/smell breaks. If you find yourself annoyed by too many stops during a group hike or don't like hiking with dogs, this is not the activity for you.
