Orientation 1: Mandatory for new participants - This 1.5-hour online virtual classroom session will introduce you to the philosophy and vision of GoHike. We will set the stage for our season, introducing course expectations, and demonstrate how to register for course hikes and activities. We will touch on basic preparation, safety, conditioning and fitness tips to help you start preparing for the course activities.

Orientation will be held via Zoom, starting promptly at 6:30 pm and ending at 8:00 pm.

Zoom log in info will arrive in your email inbox 2-3 days before orientation.

In this first session of the new Mountaineers GoHike series, we'll give you the basic information and tools to get started hiking, share information about the series and what is involved, and connect you with a community of other hikers and dedicated volunteers who are eager to help you overcome any roadblocks or fears and get out there, starting from where you are!  This session is required to graduate from the GoHike series.

Regardless of intent to graduate, all new participants must attend.

For returning participants: Orientation 1 is optional, yet encouraged to attend.

If for any reason you cannot make orientation, a recording link will be sent to you 1-2 days after. There will be a short quiz you will need to complete and return to us with the confirmation that the entire orientation has been watched/listened to and slide deck reviewed.
