Mentored Hiking and Urban Walks Leader Course Urban Walk - Scouting Practice Field Trip - Kent Station, Mill Creek Canyon & Scenic Hill

This is a Mentored Hiking and Urban Walks Leader Course activity. Enrollment is limited to course members and leaders.

A prerequisite for this course is successful completion of the online Pedestrian Safety course  or enrollment in the February 5 session of the Pedestrian Safety Seminar. All registrants must be leader approved. 

The course will begin in downtown Kent and travel through the city. The route, with a variety of scenarios will include, best options to find for beginning and ending a route; walking and crossing streets in a shopping area, with or without traffic light crossings; narrow paths or walkways, traveling on park trails; roundabouts; uneven pavement and how to navigate last-minute changes when streets are blocked due to construction; people congregating in unexpected areas and discussing how to keep the group together in these busy, noisy environments.  This will be a highly interactive practice session.
