Alpine Conditioner - Cleman Mountain–Hardy Canyon Loop

!!! Attention - This trip does NOT include reaching a peak!!! Please read Leader's Notes below completely before signing up.

  • Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 9.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,500 ft
  • Pace: 1,000 ~ 1,200ft / hr

5:45AM in North Bend for carpooling or 8AM at Waterworks Canyon trailhead.

This trip is actually on Waterworks Canyon and does NOT go to Cleman mountain, but it will be a great conditioning hike for scramblers looking for:

  • Steep and rocky ascent on a primitive trail
  • Off-trail navigation challenge on descent
  • sunshine and warmth, and
  • WILD FLOWERS!!

Tired of hiking on wet, mucky trails in cold rain?  Wants some change of scenery in warmer weather while getting some vert in? Then this might be for you.  Pace will be slow enough to take pictures of wildflowers, somewhere between 1,000 ~ 1,200ft of elevation gain per hour. I expect the total trip time +/- 7 hours, depending on the group.

If rain is forecasted, this trip will be canceled and no alternative will be offered.
