Backpackers' Pajama party: PCT Section K, Suiattle River to Stevens Pass!
- Fri, Jun 26, 2020 from 07:00 PM to 08:30 PM
- Foothills Backpacking Committee
- Foothills
- iCal
Back by popular demand: the tenth (and last for 2020) in our series of virtual online pajama parties for Mountaineers backpackers and anyone else who loves to learn about or drool over pictures from the best backpacking routes in our fine state! Put on your comfy jammies, grab a beverage and snack, and join us from 7 to 8:30 for slides, route info and details on how to plan your own trip!
Washington Section K is the most remote and difficult to access section of the PCT. It is 127 miles but can be made more manageable by going just between Stevens Pass and Suiattle River which is 77 miles. The PCT skirts the edge of Glacier Peak (though the mountain herself tends to be slusive!) and like the Wonderland Trail has dramatic ups and downs. It features some of the largest old growth trees in the state and some of the most rugged trails on the PCT and passes numerous pristine lakes and views of mountain peaks.
Beginning two days before the event we will email the instructions and link to join via zoom to everyone who has a ticket. If you can't make the event but would like to receive the presentation materials and recording afterwards, please get a ticket and you'll be added to the roster to receive them!
If you have appreciated all of our efforts to keep your outdoor dreams alive during quarantine and on into the future, we'd love it if you'd offer even a small donation to the Mountaineers during this time of extreme financial difficulty! Click the button below to get your ticket, and if you're willing to donate you can purchase a $10 or $20 ticket as a donation to our mission and outdoor programs!
