A two-hour snowboard lesson, part of a series of four Saturday lessons.

A snowboard lesson at Meany is typically 2 hours long delivered in two 1-hour sessions.  The sessions meet at 10 am and 2 pm at the tow hut. At the beginning of the lesson on the first Saturday, we will watch you ride to assign you to the appropriate class and instructor.

This lesson is an add-on that requires you to also register for day-use or an overnight at Meany Lodge for the same days as your lessons.  Please see the Meany Lodge Calendar to register for day-use or an overnight.

COVID notes

Please see our Winter Weekend page for the full set of COVID mitigations being used this year.

Meeting time and place

We will meet at 8:15am in the overnight parking area of the Crystal Spring Sno-Park.  The Meany Lodge snowcat “Tom Cat” will do one pick-up from the parking lot and bring you and your ski gear up to Meany Lodge to the slopes.  It will return guests to parking lot around 5:30 pm.   Get your ski boots on and your skis handy after parking.

Required Equipment

Required Equipment

Snowboard, snowboard boots, bindings, and helmet.   Please bring your own or rent equipment in town - the Snow Sports Director (daniel-del-norte@outlook.com) can help answer your questions.  The Mountaineers does not provide you with equipment, and we do not have equipment to rent at the Lodge.

Helmets are strongly recommended.

Clothing and Gloves:  Be prepared to spend the day outside.  The rope tow can be hard on clothing, so leave the good ski coat at home and wear an old jacket.  It also wears out gloves and mitts quickly, so we recommend wearing leather work gloves over glove liners.  Welding gloves also work well.  Meany also has several styles of leather over-mitt protectors available for sale.   Most people stay plenty warm while boarding.  We recommend bringing a separate pair of warm mitts to wear while you are not riding.
