**See Required Equipment info in the tab below.**
Beginners are welcome - no previous snowshoeing experience is required - but you must be physically fit for the 7.5 mile round-trip and 1000 feet cumulative elevation gain trip. The pace is slow and will be adjusted based on the group and snow conditions. We will take occasional breaks.
The morning portion takes about 3 hours to trek 3.5 miles. The route starts flat for a half mile, followed by ups and downs through the woods for a mile, with a 500 ft elevation gain in last 1.5 miles to Meany Lodge (2890 feet).
A hearty hot lunch is served at 12:30 PM. Please indicate dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free) in the Notes section when registering online. (If unable to make this notation, email the Leader.)
We leave Meany Lodge at 1:30 pm, returning to the parking lot around 4:00 PM. The return trip takes a different route. There are multiple trails in this area. To avoid accidental group separation, please stay together and look out for each other - especially at intersections. Cell service is unavailable for most of the trip and at Meany Lodge.
