Alpine Scrambling Course - Olympia

10-21-20: Course leaders are making every effort to offer the course as outlined below, however we may need to alter the structure of the course which could affect some dates. Please understand this before committing to the course.

The Alpine Scrambling course teaches essential techniques of off-trail wilderness travel needed for scaling snow and rock summits. Alpine scrambling may at times involve unroped movement on and across low or moderately-exposed snow and rock terrain, but does not include roped climbing on high-angle, seriously-exposed technical rock faces, nor does it involve roped travel on crevassed glaciers.

We recommend that you not purchase your mountaineering equipment until after the 1st classroom session.

A promo code will be provided for the Navigation course for a discount.  Completion of Navigation is required to graduate from the course.

Wilderness Skills Course is a required prerequisite for the Scrambling Course.  The course will be offered on 1/16/21 and 1/30/21 via Zoom from 9am-12pm.  You will need to attend both sessions.  You will be automatically enrolled into Wilderness Skills
