CHS Initial Course Meeting - Griffin Fire District Station 1

This is required for all first-time Olympia CHS participants. The session is optional for returning Olympia CHS participants. This meeting will allow students to meet each other and leaders. The agenda includes information about the fundamentals of safe hiking trips, a review CHS Course requirements and how to sign up for hikes.

Please bring your lunch.

Participants and instructors will meet each other and review the CHS course requirements. We will present information such as the 10 essential equipment categories, Leave No Trace principals, hiking trip safety and etiquette, and how to sign up for hikes. We will provide a hiking trip gear checklist. We will display a sample day-hike pack and equipment and answer questions you have about hiking gear.

THIS IS MANDATORY FOR ANYONE NOT A GRADUATE OF OLYMPIA CHS COURSE.
