Seattle Branch
about us
The largest of our branches, Seattle gives lovers of the outdoors an opportunity to try out hiking, backpacking, scrambling, climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, wilderness navigation, first aid, family activities, folk dances, leadership training, naturalist study, photography, sea kayaking and sailing.
MEET THE MOUNTAINEERS
The Seattle Branch holds a "Meet The Mountaineers" open house at The Mountaineers Program Center periodically. These allow new members and prospective members to learn about The Mountaineers offerings. Keep an eye on the "Events" section of our website for information about the next one.
Monthly Events
Our photography committee meets the third Wednesday of the month for a community potluck to share stories and photos of recent adventures. The Seattle Folkdance committee meets every Tuesday evening in Kirkland, and the Retired Rovers gather for lunch on the first Tuesday of every month.

GET INVOLVED!
Our Seattle Branch is the oldest and largest of The Mountaineers branches. Its leaders and committees schedule over a thousand activities a year and over a hundred courses and seminars. Seattle policies dictate that a Nominating Committee be formed each year by July 1. If no nominations are found, the Branch Chair may nominate individuals subject to approval of the council. Any member, however, may petition for a nomination with the support of ten other members submitted by August 1. Unless otherwise set by the council, elections occur at the regularly scheduled September council meeting. Terms last 2 years.
