Students will break into two groups and spend two days learning and practicing a variety of rigging techniques, and putting into practice the vertical and horizontal rope progression techniques learned on day 2. The curriculum includes a variety of anchors, including natural anchors, bolts and pitons. Students will rig multiple types of fixed and releasable systems, and learn the application and context for each. Students also get a chance to practice making decisions about rigging based on a variety of factors including water, rock quality, and team competence. Time permitting, the group will descend a canyon, however the majority of the instruction will occur in one section of a beginner canyon that's well-suited to practice a variety of techniques.
