Advanced CHS 1 Hike - Poo Poo Point via Chirico Trail

VIA HIGH SCHOOL TRAIL!! Advanced CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.75-2.25 mph)

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.1 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,860 ft

We will meet in the Issaquah area to car pool the short distance to the trailhead.  Planning for an early start (8:00AM) to beat most of the crowds to the observation point overlooking Issaquah, Lake Sammamish and the Olympics in the background. Final details on meeting location and directions will be provided as registration closes.

On a clear day there are great views to the North and a short distance further down the trail a nice view to the South including Mt Rainier and South Puget Sound on the horizon. Although considered a moderate hike, after gaining the main trail, it's a pretty steady climb to the top including a few steeper sections that will ensure a good workout for the day.  Even though this is a close in hike, we will be starting fairly early to avoid some of the crowding typical of this popular trail.  Bring plenty of water, especially if it's a warm day.  Also, plan to join us at a local pub after the hike for food and refreshments.
