Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series
CHS 1 Hike - Lookout Mountain Forest Preserve
A lovely forest hike just a little to the northeast of the Chuckanuts. The trail offers a moderate workout with small waterfalls and a view of Mt Baker on a clear day. CHS 1 hike led at a pace of 1.5-2.0 mph.

We can meet up at the Chuckanut Park and Ride to caravan up to the trailhead at 8:00 am. Unfortunately there are no bathrooms at this facility. More information to be given on the Hello Hiker.
We hike at the pace of the group, usually around 2.0 mph, but we want all to be successful, gain confidence and conditioning. There could still be some downed trees from winter that will require some navigation over, under or around. WTA is scheduled to work this trail the weeks before and after our hike, basing at Noisy Creek. Many USFS campgrounds along the west side of Baker Lake for people who might want to extend their weekends.
