  • Pace: 2.2-2.4 mph
This is a popular hike so let's plan to meet up at 7:30a.m. in front of the Cascade Motel office, (address: 300 NW Forest Ln, Cascade Locks, Oregon).  We will caravan West on I-84 to Bonneville Dam,  Exit 40.  Turn left off the exit and then cross over/under the freeway and merge back on to I-84 heading East.  Take exit 41 (just past the tunnel) to NE Eagle Creek Ln.  Turn right on to Eagle Creek Ln and travel 0.6 miles to the Eagle Creek Trailhead parking lot.
For those of you who want to meet us at the trailhead parking lot, please be there by 7:50a.m.  A Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required for parking at the trailhead.
Look for my blue 2018 Volvo XC60R in the parking lot.

Maps/Route: Green Trails Map No. 428S, Columbia River Gorge, West or No. 429, Bonneville Dam, OR.  This is an out and back 13-mile hike heading southeast on the Eagle Creek trail to our turnaround point just past Twister (Corkscrew) Falls where we will have a 20-minute lunch/snack break before our return trip to the trailhead.

Pace:  We will aim to keep a 2.2 to 2.4 mph pace with 5-7 minute snack/water breaks every hour.  We should be back at the trailhead by 2:30pm.
