CHS 2 Hike - Tatoosh Peak

MT. RAINIER CAMPOUT WEEKEND!- [UPDATE to UPDATE: This hike will still be FOR FUN in spirit but WILL NOW COUNT as a CHS2] (Traverse flower filled meadows and ridges with spectacular views of Mt. Rainier on your way to Tatoosh Lake and an old lookout site on the summit.

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-3.0 mph

TBD - depending on road conditions closer to the date, we may do this either as a traverse or an out-and-back.

June 20th/newest update: the hike will count for CHS2.

Please note: since both hike leaders have big long hikes the day before, we will lead this one as a relaxed/fun hike with more opportunities to take in the view and social.   That said, we do have 10+miles and 4000' of elevation to cover, so we will still hike at a solid pace.  Depending on road and route conditions, we will check out the Tatoosh ridge and possibly the peak too, either as a traverse or out-and-back.  More information closer to the date.
