East of the Cascade Crest has several habitats not found on the Seattle side. These habitats are loaded with birds not found on the west side and many great opportunities for birding. In the fourth lecture, we will look at these species, some of the great birding sites to find them, and several possible itineraries for day trips from the west side.
Maybe the opportunity for a weekend trip will come up. The Okanogan Highlands and river valley offer many fantastic birding locations and places to find several species not easily found elsewhere. We will explore several day-long loops that could be done from a local town in the area and cover the likely species that might occur. Detailed itineraries with possible stops and species will be included.
