Naturalist Leader Training Clinic - Magnuson Park

Techniques and tools for leading and instructing Naturalist trips featuring pollinators. This activity is for Naturalist Leaders and Instructors only!

  • Easy
  • Mileage: 2.0

We will meet at the Mountaineers Native Plant Demonstration Garden sign in Magnuson Park, southeast of the Seattle Mountaineers Program Center near the climbing wall.  Enter Magnuson Park at the 74th St entrance. Turn left at 63rd Ave NE. Turn left again at NE 77th St, and look for the Mountaineers Garden on your left as the road curves. Park in the lot on the right. You may also park in front  of the Mountaineers building and follow the small path past the Climbing Wall.

Please arrive promptly, ready to go by 8:00am. We will be finished at 12:15pm

No restrooms are available so please plan accordingly.

We will be visiting the Native Plant Demonstration Garden and the nearby P-Patch area. If time allows we can walk over to the Promontory Ponds wetland area, for a different habitat.

Participants will be given materials related to the Class 4 talks on Pollination. This is new, so we have a lot to learn! Keep your eyes open in the next few weeks, formulate your questions, and be prepared to be an active participant. You will be helping to determine how we integrate pollinator information into future Naturalist trips

Bring snacks, drink, lunch. Loupe and/or camera with flash recommended.
