Introduction to Skate (XC) Skiing
(One-Day)

Skating on skis: Fast, exhilarating, and a great workout. Designed for the novice or beginning skate skiers, the class cover basic skating techniques and movement patterns to get you gliding effortlessly down the trail. This is a one-day intensive class (9:30-2:30) designed for XC skiers who want to learn the basic classic XC skiing techniques.

Taught by PSIA instructors on groomed trails out of the Crystal Springs Snow Park on the Snoqualmie Pass/I-90 corridor   A Snow Park perit with groomed trail endorsement is required for each parked vehicle  For more info go to: http://parks.wa.gov/winter/.

Previous skiing experience either XC or alpine is required for this fast-track learning experience. Potential participants without previous skiing experience are encouraged to complete the Introduction to Cross Country class prior to starting to skate ski.

Participants supply their own ski gear. Options including gear purchase at retail shops or ski swaps, or rental at various rental locations.

Required Equipment

A list of gear and other preparations will be sent about 6 days prior to the class.  Skate skis, boots, skate poles, a very small pack, layered winter clothing, and a lunch to eat in the car is required.
