Meet shortly before 9am at the West Seattle Foot Ferry dock. The Sunday schedule in December is 8:30am depart Seattle for West Seattle. Walkers can park (free) on street near the Seattle Foot Ferry terminal (both downtown and in W Seattle) and do a round trip to/from West Seattle.
Participation in 1 Urban Walk per month is required for all GoWalk! participants.
L2 urban walks will be offered in December and will open for registration on the first Friday, November 1 at 12:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to register for a second urban walk Friday, November 8 at 12:00 pm.
City of Seattle encourages salmon viewing so we'll check on Longfellow Creek. Here's the skinny: Watch for coho salmon in October through December and chum in November as they migrate up Longfellow Creek! Start at Dragonfly Garden (corner of 28th Avenue SW and SW Dakota St., Seattle) and walk the trail south along the creek. Look under bridges where fish often hide. For best viewing, visit in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid glare and bring polarized glasses.
