GoWalk! December L2 Urban Walks are low-stress activities to help you determine where you are in terms of gear, the pace (1.5 - 2 mph) and distance you can complete comfortably, and what your season goals for conditioning and walking are, so that you can determine what level of walks and pace would be the best fit for you to sign up for - no pressure, no judgment!

Meeting Time: 9 am, gear on and ready to walk

Parking: free at the Graham Visitors Center, no pass required

The Walk: Starting at the Graham Visitors Center, we'll stroll through the Arboretum and visit the newly installed Union Sculpture, the Lookout Gazebo, the New Zealand Arboretum Area, and the nearby Pacific Connections Gardens. We'll then walk to E Lake Washington Blvd and take Boyer Ave E to Interlaken Park. After a short walk in Interlaken Park, we'll exit the park at 19th Ave E and head to the Montlake Playfield Park where we’ll take a quick break. On our way to Montlake Blvd, we'll use the Bill Dawson Trail to pass under 520. We'll then walk east on E Shelby St, visit the totem pole and east viewpoint on the Montlake Cut. From there, we'll use the Arboretum Waterfront Trail to cross Marsh Island to Foster Island, then head back to the Graham Visitors Center using the Foster Point Trail.

Pace: 1.5 to 2 mph

Breaks: We'll take short breaks at points of interest and as needed. Please bring trail snacks to eat along the way. We'll pass several public restrooms on our walk.

Rain or Shine our walk is on!

Participation in 1 Urban Walk per month is required for all GoWalk! participants.

L2 urban walks will be offered in December and will open for registration on the first  Friday,  November 3 at 12:00 pm. Participants are encouraged to register for a second or third urban walk Friday, November 10 at 12:00 pm
