Seattle MAC Alpine Climb - Eldorado Peak/Inspiration Glacier

We will be rolling out from the SPC at 6 am sharp Saturday morning, 8/12. Be there early to load up the Subaru.

Prerequisites: 

For alpine rock climbs:

Skills/workshops: Multi-pitch systems, belay escape, rappelling, lead climbing / lead belaying

Other courses/trips: Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course/badge, Leavenworth Multi-Pitch trip / successful multi-pitch climb, Summer Trip / successful muti-pitch climb there

If glacier climb: In addition to all of the above: Crevasse rescue workshop, glacier climbing fundamentals (at least 2), Snow 1, Snow 2

In addition the technical skills described above, participants joining this trip may be asked to describe the physical preparations they have undertaken - this may include conditioning hikes, other easier climbs, weekly training routines, etc.

10 essentials, helmet, harness, shoes

  • Technical equipment—ice axe, crevasse rescue stuff, crampons, helmets
    • X3 lockers, x2 non lockers, 1 rescue pulley w/ locker, lightweight harness, waist prusik w/ locker, extra/emergency cordelette w/ locker, PA w/ locker, belay device w/ locker, ~2 alpine slings w/ non-lockers
    • Clothes—warm clothes, rain gear, sun protection
    • Shoes—mountaineering boots, bring sandals or running shoes if wading is needed
    • Food—lunch, snacks, dinner, breakfast
    • Tent/bivvy, sleeping bag, sleeping pad
    • Money for dinner if you’re stopping on the way back
    • Change of clothes for ride back to town, comfy shoes
