Single Day alpine scramble up the NE Slope via Headlee Pass

Clothes 

  • Pack for hot conditions in the day and cold temps at night. Leavenworth can get up into the 80’s – 90’s this time of year during the day, but still drop down to the 40’s or even colder at night so be prepared! 
    • One outfit for climbing (sun protection required)
    • extra warm layers for night or a separate set of clothes (long johns/baselayers)
    • fleece/lightweight down mid-layer
    • hard wind/rain shell for outer layer
    • warm big puffy for night/wind in the day
    • Lightweight gloves
    • Beanie/scarf/buff
    • Extra socks
    • sunglasses 
  • Backpack – A day pack for carrying your personal items with you during climbing. Large enough to bring fit group gear like anchor kits, quickdraws, and ropes!
  • Shoes – heavy duty sneakers/running shoes or hiking shoes/boots.
