A conditioning hike to help prepare and train for backpack trips, longer backpack trips, glacier climbs, alpine rock climbs, etc.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 7.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,800 ft

See trip sheet for all the specifics, but in the meantime, here's the gist:

This is our first conditioning hike of the season, yay! We'll be hiking approximately 7.5 miles, 1800' elevation gain. As this is a conditioning hike, we'll maintain a steady MAC pace (average 2.5mph) and will aim for a brief stop or two along the trail for layer adjustment/water/party separation breaks. We will also take a short break at the lake for lunch/snacks.

More hike details and recent trail reports can be found here on the WTA website.

If space allows, leader's super friendly golden retriever, Zoe, will be joining us on the trip. If you're allergic or dog-phobic, please inform Stephanie, and Zoe will stay behind and keep the couch warm.
