Seattle MAC Cross Country Ski Overnight - Snow Bowl Hut, High Hut & The Yurt
An overnight cross country ski trip in which participants will ski in with camping gear and stay overnight at a hut. This trip has prerequisites, see leaders notes for details.

We will leave early on the 19th from the program center. We will return in the evening on the 20th.
Also of note - the 15 dollars covers the hut fee.

This will be an overnight backpack on skis. We will sleep at High Hut on the MTTA trail system. Participants must be experienced cross-country skiers. Either prior personal experience or attendance on a MAC cross country ski is required for this trip. Avalanche training is not required for this trip.

- Winter layers for cross country skiing. Aerobic activity so you don’t need super heavy layers.
- Warm, sweat wicking base layer
- Lightweight, insulative midlayer
- wind/waterproof outer shell
- Accessories: Buff/scarf/gloves/beanie/goggles or sunglasses
- Cross-country skis (skate or classic) / poles / boots
- Water/food/snacks for all the days you'll be out
- breakfast
- lunch
- group dinners may be the plan
- hot drink mixes
- Small day pack
- 10 essentials (including sun protection, headlamp, first aid)
- Comfy change of clothes for the car ride

- tent w/ rain fly & groundcloth, stakes, guylines
- backpacking sized pack
- sleeping pads (1 foam, 1 air)
- optional pillow (consider lightweight inflatable one)
- 0 degree or better sleeping bag (consider a sleeping bag liner)
- cooking stove/gear/fuel (group gear, not everyone will need one)
- ignition source (consider lighter + waterproof matches)
- group cooking pots/pot grabber/utensiles
- extra fuel for melting snow
- mess kit (bowl, spoon, mug, consider vacuum sealed insulated bottle)
- scrubber/rag/sponge type thing
- personal toiletries (toothpaste/brush, TP, hand sani, etc)
- nighttime change of clothes (esp socks)
- warm , heavy nighttime gloves
- handwarmers, foot warmers
- plastic garbage bag or two for keeping items dry or dry sack/putting trash in at
- couple extra ziplock baggies for keeping phone dry
