The Pathfinders will spend the weekend car camping and climbing!

  • The campground is first come, first served, so whichever car is able to get there first will secure 2-3 campsites and let the rest of the group know which sites we will be camping at.
  • If Skull Hollow is full, the backup plan will be to camp at Smith Rock Bivouac Area or one of the Haystack Reservoir Campgrounds

  • Parking: Oregon State Parks  day use permit or 12 month pass
    • 12 month pass: $30
    • Day use permit: $5 per day
  • Guests: If spots are still available one week prior to the trip, email [NAME] to request that a friend or sibling be able to join.
  • Land Acknowledgement: We will be recreating on the lands/waters of the Pacific Northwest Indian Tribes, including the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Tenino, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla peoples who live here and steward these lands and waters as they have since time immemorial. The Seattle Mountaineers Youth Clubs encourage you to recreate mindfully and respectfully on our upcoming trip to these native lands.

Clothes: Pack for warm conditions during the day

  • Clothes for adventuring during the day (layers)
    • Clothes for at camp in the evening (slightly warmer because it’ll cool down in the evening)
  • Sun Protection: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, sun shirt, etc.

Camping items:

  • Personal mess kit including: plate/bowl, utensils, cup
  • Camp chair
  • Tent (can be borrowed from the Mountaineers with advance notice)
  • Sleeping bag/pad (can be borrowed from the Mountaineers with advance notice)
  • Pillow (we’re car camping; might as well be comfy!)
  • Toiletries (restrooms available at campsite)
  • Headlamp/flashlight with extra batteries
  • Face mask(s)
  • Hand Sanitizer

CLIMBING GEAR (CAN BORROW):

  • Shoes for hiking to the crag
