Youth aged 14-17 who have aged out of day camp are invited to Alumni Adventure Camp backpacking the Nannie Peak Loop. We'll continue our outdoor skill development, challenge ourselves by choice, and reminisce about camp days spent with Billy the Goat!
With views of Mt Rainier, Mt Saint Helens, and Mt Adams, this gorgeous subalpine loop is a great 4-day backpack for budding outdoor adventurers who are hoping to hone their backcountry skills. While hiking to Sheep Lake and along sections of the PCT, we'll play trail games, look for wildlife and native plants, and soak in the beauty that the Goat Rocks Wilderness has to offer.
Camp Alums arrive at the Seattle Program Center on Tuesday at 9am. After a few ice breaker games, a gear check, and an introductory backcountry lecture, we will load the cars and hit the road!
Each day will include hiking, backcountry skills lessons, campground games, delicious food, and lots of summer camp fun. Alums will learn how to prepare meals in the woods, set up a campsite, navigate with a map and compass, and leave no trace. Camp Alums are expected to carry their personal gear and some of the group gear.
After 4 days of adventure, we will head back at the Seattle Program Center in time for pick up Friday at 3pm with new stories, skills, friends, and lots of memories.
Youth participating in the Seattle Summer Camp Junior Counselor Program are eligible to register for Alumni Adventures at a discounted rate. Please reach out to Tailor for details.
