An Appalachian Trail Evening with Heather "Anish" Anderson

An Appalachian Trail Evening with Heather "Anish" Anderson

In September, Washington resident Heather “Anish” Anderson finished hiking the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail in 54 days, 7 hours and 48 minutes. Hiking 16-18 hours a day, she average 40 miles a day. Now THAT is an amazing “Walk In The Woods.” In doing so, she set a new self-supported FKT (fastest know time) for the AT. In 2013 she set the self-supported FKT on the 2,660 Pacific Crest Trail (completing it in 60 days, 17 hours and 12 minutes). She is the first person to simultaneously hold the FKT on both trails. Come hear Heather’s compelling life story as well as tales from her time on the AT. What is the experience like, day after day, usually from pre-dawn until after dark, mile after mile, state by state? She’ll show and explain the gear she used and there will be a Q&A following her slide-show presentation. The saying goes that everyone should "hike their own hike." Heather lives that mantra in a special and unique way. After Heather's presentation will be a screening of a 50 minute National Geographic film of the Appalachian Trail, with wonderful cinematography and scenery. A portion of the event proceeds will go to support a local Search & Rescue organization. **Please consider buying your tickets in advance. The last time Heather came to Seattle to speak about her PCT adventure, the event sold out and was standing-room only.**
