Tacoma Scrambling Activity - Course Kick-Off - Mountaineers Tacoma Program Center

The training evolution begins during this first team meeting. This is a comprehensive day of training designed to set students up for success.

This activity will start at 9am and planned to conclude at 12p.  After a 30-minute lunch break, we will reconvene at the program center for an Avalanche Awareness course for students who need this class.

This first team meeting will provide students the opportunity to meet the instruction and leadership teams.  The day will begin with an introduction to Alpine Scrambling and the course activities that will follow.

Instructors will provide advice on physical preparedness and nutrition.  

The day will conclude with a conversation on Avalanche Awareness led by a representative from the Northwest Avalanche Center.  Students who complete the day will earn the Avalanche Awareness badge.

This activity will be held at the Tacoma Program Center and in-person attendance is required.  There will be no virtual options for this activity.
