Winter Hiking Series: I-90 Alley January Hikes - Grand Ridge Park (Snoqualmie)

Trip initially open to Winter Hiking Series students. Trip will open for registration to all Mountaineers 7 to 10 days prior to the hike date.

  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 11.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,800 ft
  • Pace: 1.8 to 2.2mph

We will meet at Central Park in the Issaquah Highlands ready to hike at 8 am, January 18, 2025. There are plenty of places to park in lots and along Central Park Way but let's plan to meet at the far (south) end of the park where the road ends at soccer fields. This is a city park so no permits required but can get busy with organized sports and people otherwise using the park.

We will proceed from Central Park into Grand Ridge Park, take the trail south of the housing developments, and then take the main trail (Len's Trail) north as far as we care to go. I'd like to get to at least the wetland boardwalk just south of Duthie Hill but am flexible. This trail is multiuse and popular with mountain bikers and trail runners, hence the earlier start.  We will return the same way unless we decide to add some mileage, in which case we can take a part of the Grand Ridge loop trail.
