Sea Kayak Celebration: Gear Grab, Potluck and More - Mountaineers Tacoma Program Center

Calling all kayakers, past, present and future- Join us for a special evening to socialize, snag (or sell) some needed gear, feast on a potluck dinner, recognize Tacoma course graduates and award winners, and share your favorite trips from the season. Paddlers from all branches are welcome.

Gear Grab   (Used Kayak and Camping Equipment sale)

4:30 – 4:45 pm               Table Set-up

4:45 – 5:00 pm               Sellers set up

5:00 – 6:00 pm               Equipment sale

 Potluck and Program

5:30 – 6:00 pm       Social time / appetizers

6 pm                                   Potluck

6:45 pm                    Graduation & Awards

7:00 – 8:15pm         Presentations - from ourselves, for each other

After program       Tables/chairs away, general clean up

Details:

If you want to sell kayaking and/or camping gear:

  • Contact Lori before November 11 to rsvp as a seller.
  • Arrive by 4:45 pm to set up your stuff. Have prices already marked.

 Potluck:

  • Bring your non-disposable plate, cup/glass, utensils, and your potluck contribution + serving utensil, ideally in non-disposable container.
  • Bring your own beverage.
  • Appetizers should be in place by 5:30.
  • All other food should be in place by 6pm.
  • At the end of the evening please take your potluck container and leftovers with you.
  • Suggested potluck dish (watch here for adjustments a week before event):
    • Appetizer                  Last name starts A-E
    • Salad/Side/Main    Last name starts F-Stn
    • Dessert                       Last name starts Sto-Z

 Program: Your Fantastic trips

  • Did you have a fantastic trip this year that you’d like to share? Then consider being part of the program!
  • Submit your presentation request with topic and preferred amount of time, to Lori by Nov 12 for consideration. If there are more potential presentations than fit into the available time, we’ll select a broad variety and will confirm the presentation plan within that week.

 

Guest: You are welcome to bring a partner/friend. Adults only. If they are not a Mountaineers member, and therefore cannot register online, please register them with an email to Lori.
