Tacoma Trail Running Committee

Tacoma Trail Running Committee

The Tacoma Mountaineers Trail Running Committee exists as the governing and administrative body over all run-oriented activities for the Tacoma branch. Through structured courses, clinics, and activities, TRC aims to promote the sport of trail running by training safe and confident recreationalists, to create opportunities for members to experience the Pacific Northwest though trail, and to train leaders to participate and propagate education in the sport of trail running.

Courses & Badges
This committee offers introductory-level trail running courses aimed at welcoming competent runners looking to take their skills to the trails, new trail runners who are looking to stretch their fitness, and trail runners who are interested in applying their skills to the demanding terrain of the Pacific Northwest backcountry. These are not 'how to run' courses. Members should have an existing personal relationship with the sport of running and should already be pursuing run-oriented fitness. These are the skill and course badges you can earn through our programs:

Clinics & Recurring Series
Discipline-specific clinics on winter trail running, trail race prep & training, ultra running, and mountain running will be offered at the discretion and capacity of the committee at later dates. If you are interested in reoccuring social run series please contact the TRC chairs.

Trail Running Leadership
If you are an experienced trail runner and are interested in becoming an activity leader please contact the TRC chairs to discuss leadership pathways.
